KINGMAN-- Thomas Hankins, 79, farmer of Rt. 2 Veedersburg, died Sunday morning shortly after being admitted to St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. Born Dec. 3, 1886 on Rt. 2 Veedersburg, he was a son of Alexander and Maranda Parker Hankins. On Sept. 28, 1907 he was wed to Lucy Royce, who survives. Mr. Hankins attended Cooper's Chapel Church northwest of Cates. Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hoagland of Rt. 2 Veedersburg; two sons, Thomas V. of Rt. 2 Veedersburg and Herbert, at home; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Norwood of Crawfordsville, and nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One grandson is serving in Viet Nam. Mr. Hankins was preceded in death by two brothers and a half-brother. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper's Chapel, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Woodrow Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The body will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the services.  --typed by Walt W
